The Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival is a celebration of Appalachian musical roots with live music, workshops and other activities. The annual event started nearly 7 years ago in the place where bluegrass, country and old-time music originated: the Smoky Mountains! The 2018 festival features Tony Arata, who has written for Garth Brooks, as well as other hit songwriters including Rafe Van Hoy, Buddy Cannon, Randy Brooks and Leslie Satcher. Altogether, there will be nearly 50 solo and duo artists from across the country performing on stage! The Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival also offers an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming singers and songwriters to perfect their craft of songwriting and test their original songs in public.

2. Times, Dates and Location

The 7th Annual Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival takes place from Monday, August 13 to Wednesday, August 22. The event occurs at venues throughout Gatlinburg, so check the official events and showcase schedule for the specific dates and times to plan accordingly. Everyone is welcome to participate in the event and learn about the craft of songwriting!

3. Ticket Information

The Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival features several ticketed concert performances where tickets can be purchased in advance. These includes performances from Sylvia (“Nobody”), Bobby G. Rice (“You Lay So Easy On My Mind”), Leona Williams (“You Take Me For Granted & Some Day When Things Are Good”), and Hilary Williams (“Sign of Life”). There will also be a performance from Sam Williams, who is the son of Hank Williams, Jr.
