Roosevelt Lodge is named after President Franklin Roosevelt who stood at the Rockefeller Monument in September 1940 and dedicated the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for the enjoyment of the people. When we began renovating Roosevelt Lodge, we kept those words in mind, and it has truly become a place dedicated to the relaxation and enjoyment of the people.

Roosevelt Lodge offers a certain uniqueness that your not likely to find in other large cabins. Instead of stepping out the door onto asphalt, you'll step out onto a lush stone walkway, and instead of being contained to the cabin, you'll be within a few hundred feet of a National Park. Simply put, Roosevelt Lodge is not your average cabin.

Just twenty minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, Roosevelt Lodge is perfect for family reunions, small weddings, and corporate retreats. With seven sprawling bedrooms, several sleeper sofas and bunk beds, and nine and a half bathrooms, the Lodge will comfortably sleep up to thirty-four people.

When you pull up to Roosevelt Lodge you'll be greeted by a 20 x 25 foot open patio space with several rocking chairs, an outdoor television, a charcoal grill, and a gigantic outdoor fireplace. You'll be able to relax by the fire, and you won't even have to miss the big game!

The mother-in-laws quarters, which is attached to the main house by its own covered porch walkway, is equipped with a lounge space that includes plush sofas and chairs as well as two sets of bunk beds. This space has its own television, bathroom, sitting area, dining area, and wet bar. Upstairs you will find a secluded bedroom with panoramic views, a king size bed, a television, several closets, an in-room sink, and a private bathroom with a jacuzzi/shower combo.

The main floor of the Lodge is outfitted with a mudroom that includes a utility sink and a front-loading washer and drier. The mudroom opens up into an extended kitchen adorned with granite countertops, a cooktop stove, double ovens, double dishwashers, double microwaves, a large freezer, a forty cubic foot refrigerator, and all the cookware and utensils you'll need to whip up the perfect meal. Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining room with plenty of seating.

The main floor living room is a perfect gathering place for your group! You can sit around the lavish stone fireplace, watch TV on the gigantic flat screen television or simply relax and take in the view from one of the rooms many windows.

There are three bedrooms on the main level of Roosevelt Lodge. The first bedroom has two queen size beds, a television, and a pass through bathroom. The second is a master bedroom with a king size bed, television, and a master bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, walk in shower, and a vanity with two sinks. The last of the three main floor bedrooms has a king size bed, a television, and a pass through bathroom.

From the main floor there is a stone staircase that leads up to the library loft. In the library you'll find hundreds of books, all of which are there for your reading pleasure. The upstairs of the lodge is also home to a sitting area with two leather fold out sofas, several plush chairs, and a large television. There are two more bedrooms on this level, both of which have king size beds and their own bathrooms with Jacuzzi/shower combos.

One level down from the main floor is a luxurious game room equipped with a pool table, puzzle table, television, stone fireplace, and a wet bar. There is also a bunkroom with two sets of bunk beds and two full size beds, a leather sofa, and a bathroom. Perfect for the kids! There is one other full bathroom on this level as well as one half bathroom. Last but not least, this level also features a home theater room with seven leather recliners and a huge flat screen television. You won't even have to leave the Lodge to get a full movie theater experience! Indoor fireplace in operation Oct thru March

We loved every moment. Only suggestions would be to fix the water damaged ceiling in first floor bedroom, and maybe take out the mention of a player piano in the description of The Roosevelt Lodge.

Beautiful Home. We (34 in total) enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for us all and the view was amazing. We had a few things that needed to be addressed and someone was on site Within the hour - great service! The only thing I might suggest is if the home had some baby items accessible such as pak-n-plays, high chairs. It would go a long way in helping young families traveling long distance. Also the wooden fence was broken due to fallen tree Branch which gave a sense of security for the landscaping drop. Our experience was very good.

We had a great vacation but there are some updates needed in the cabin. On the horse bedroom the shower doesn't work well. The fans need a serious dusting so we left them off to not stir up allergies. The kitchen lacked the pots and pans for a chef kitchen. Great fire places, game room and hot tub.

The Roosevelt Lodge was lovely, and accommodated the entire family. I do have a few complaints that I will address as I believe my comments could greatly improve the stay for your guests. 1. for such a large home, the kitchen was very poorly stocked and disheveled. We love to cook, and although we brought everything prepared to be warmed, etc. there were very few platters, the pots and pans were in a heap and the knives were inadequate. The handles were tacky to the touch. 2. I couldn’t even find a coffee filter and had to run to the store to buy some. Maybe reusable coffee filters would be a good addition. 3. It was difficult to find out detailed info about the pull out couches. I called a number of times to request info and felt as though I had to drag the info out of the staff. I didn’t even know that there were more than two sofa sleepers until I started digging. They also told me I needed blankets and pillows for the sofas at the last minute. So, having detailed information would be helpful. 4. Most of the sofa sleeper mattresses are in bad shape and awful for an adult to sleep on. We used every sleeping space available. Now, the amazing things were that your staff is friendly and kind, the home is lovely and well stocked with towels, toilet paper and paper towels. The scenery is amazing and we got nothing but compliments about the venue. Please know that I offer these suggestions as a way to improve the experience of your guests. I have stayed in a lot of places and a well stocked kitchen and detailed info offered up front greatly improves the experience! Thank you! Dayna Lockwood

The house was wonderful, plenty of space, generous bedrooms with nice mattresses. Bathrooms were great. I would install motion activated lights along the baseboards in the bedroom hallway on the main level. It’s like a dark cave walking down that. The reclined position in the hot tub didn’t have working jets, also the speakers were visibly broken. Time for an update on the hot tub. Everything else was wonderful.

We were pleased with your extra care given to us when we could not be in Roosevelt Lodge on Sunday as usual, your staff provided extra table and chairs at the Valentine View to accommodate our large group. Every year for some years now we have celebrated both Thanksgiving and Christmas together. We are unable to be together later. Again thanks for you kindness. Been bringing the family to the Smokies for vacation over 30 years and thought it couldn't get better but as the family got bigger we kept needing more space. The Roosevelt Lodge was the perfect answer. Even when the weather wasn't the best, there was so much to do inside. Had 34 of us and have to say, it was the best vacation yet. Thank you for a great time.

We lived the Roosevelt lodge because it had so much space and aminities! The check in at 4 and check out at 11 felt like we paid for a day that we didn't get because we actually lost 5 hours. On our last day there there was a mouse that ran through the dinning area.

Pros: The cabin was the perfect size for our high school youth. Most of the youth and sponsors said it was the most beautiful cabin they had ever stayed in. The kitchen was enormous and served our purpose well. The fire places were wonderful, since the temperature dropped below 10 degrees. Cons: The road conditions on Waldroup Road were very dangerous getting to and from the main highway with the ice and snow. A wider road with guardrails would be a major upgrade. There was a slight smell of sewage as you descended down the stairs to the bottom level of the lodge. We couldn't find the source though. All in all, a fantastic weekend!!! We definitely will try to book again for next January with the hope of no snow 🙂

We had a family group from age 1 to age 90 and everyone had an incredible time. The peacock was a beautiful surprise. We ate every meal in the cabin and had all we needed. We did have a terrible smell in the downstairs and found a dead mouse in the ceiling rafters. It took a couple of phone calls to get somone to address the smell. Also about 6 different strangers knocked on our door looking for Steiner (?) Lodge. One person walked right into the house. I think you would benefit from better signage on the front and back driveways. The front door could use some weather stripping to prevent drafts. The kitchen door hinges to the MIL suite need to be oiled. We eventually found the National Park path on the property but directions or a sign at the trailhead would have been nice. In addition, i stayed in the MIL upstairs room and the tub never drained during my shower. Might need to use some draino there. There seemed to be an abundance of lady bugs in the great room. We burned a fire in the fireplace during our whole stay and really appreciated the abundace of wood. Overall, a fantastic stay! My grandfather has already mentioned booking again for next year! Thank you
