The Reagan family, one of Gatlinburgs most historic families, began building cabins around 1925. At the time, Otha Reagan worked stripping tanning bark in the Sugarlands area of what is now the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and his wife, Emma, was a weaver at Arrowmont. In 1923, Otha and Emma had saved enough money $500 to be exact to purchase five acres of land on the Roaring Fork Creek where Brookside Resort is today. Just a few years later they began building small cabins and chicken coops on the property to rent to men who were in the area building the road from Newfound Gap to Clingmans Dome. These cabins were built with timbers from the Roaring Fork School House and Church, and some were built from log homes moved straight out of the National Park. Many of the Reagan familys ancestors were even born in these cabins!
In 1971, Gatlinburg Southern Building Code required the remodel of nearly all the buildings in the area to a Bavarian type of exterior, so the Reagan cabins were updated to conform. Not too long after that in 1980, all of the original cabins and chicken houses were moved to their present location in picturesque Emerts Cove by a local river hangout called the Flint Rock Swimming Hole. To make a few larger cabins to accommodate larger families, two of the original cabins were placed on each side of a concrete slab to form a bedroom and a bathroom, and the middle was built to form a living area. Dont worry, though, the cabins havent lost any of their history. Rumor has it that old chicken feed bags from the cabins earliest years have been found in their attics! Todays owners, Beville and Lisa Reagan, are proud to bring a little piece of their familys Gatlinburg history to your Gatlinburg vacation!

What people are saying about this property
It was a wonderful place for our family and friends to gather and unwind while taking in the beauty of Green Briar. I would give it a 10/10.
As a company, I could not be more pleased with my experience. The cabin itself was pretty broken down and could use some work, but your customer service team and the perks of booking with you all was A+. I think I would enjoy it even more if I had sprung for an even nicer cabin.
Very friendly and helpful with all our questions. Quick to any issue
The cabin itself was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. However the shower was less than desirable. The shower head had terrible water pressure and the hot/ cold knows we're loose in the wall. Lastly the tub was clearly getting water underneath. When standing in the shower it slowly felt like you were standing on a small bed mattress. You could feel the water that had leaked under the tub.
Love staying with this company. Cabins are always nice and they will help with anything.
The cabin was very clean when we arrived. It felt very homey. Great location to Gatlinburg.
Great cabin, Spacious, friendly staff, easy check in and out, clean and good smell

Very nice, would be nice to have a dining table
Our family enjoyed our Family reunion at Brookside Cottages at greenbriar
We had a great time until we changed to our second cabin when we requested an additional Night. All was taken care of and we will return. This is always a most pleasant accommodation. We appreciate an older clean cabin.

The person that checked us in was awesome. The only downside was the shower. The shower head was so low both me and I my husband stood above it and it was spraying strangely, I didn’t feel clean. The shower also felt like you were going to fall thru at any moment.
