We offer guided fishing trips and hikes in the Smoky Mountain area, including Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.

Parkside Cabin rentals is pleased to announce that we have teamed up with James Huskey, a native or Sevier County with over 40 years of fishing and hiking experience, to lead you on an amazing fishing trip or hiking adventure.
The Great Smoky Mountain National Park offers one of the last wild trout habitats in the Eastern United States. The surrounding rivers and streams also offer outstanding smallmouth bass fishing. There are over 700 miles of crystal clear streams and rivers.

Hiking Trips
Hikers have even more to choose from. The Smokies cover over 500,000 acres of the most bio-diverse habitat in the world (1500 varieties flowering plants, 130 varieties of tree, 50 varieties of ferns, 200 varieties of birds, 80 varieties of reptiles and 70 varieties of fish.). There are over 100,000 acres of virgin timber with mammoth oak, poplar, spruce, hemlock and Fraser firs. In 1976 the park was designated an international Biosphere Reserve.  To hike the Smokies is always a great experience, but to have a trained guide that can tell you the history of the area you are passing through makes the hike truly memorable.  You can learn about the logging history, the history of the Cherokee people, and just develop a greater understanding of one on the greatest national parks.
All this can be overwhelming to someone who only has a few days to visit. He offers knowledge and expertise of over 40 years hiking & fishing this area to make your visit a memorable one. Your hiking or fishing trip can be tailored to meet your interests or needs. He has been guiding guests of all ages.

Fishing Trips
James offers several types of fishing trips. He will work with you personally to understand what type of trip you would like and what species you want to pursue. Many trips are determined by season and what is biting the best.  So whether you want to fly fish for brook trout in the park, wade for world class small mouth in the Little Pigeon River or venture onto Douglas Lake for some great tasting crappie or catfish, James can take care of you. The foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains offer hundreds of miles of pristine stream fishing.

Small Mouth Bass
For years our trophy smallmouth bass fishing has been a well kept secret of local fishermen. Our streams are designated trophy waters by the State Wildlife Resources Agency. Fishermen are allowed to keep only one fish per day 21 in or bigger. The trophy water regulations have allowed our rivers & streams to develop a quality of smallmouth fishing that rivals anywhere in the southeast.
