6 Tips for an Amazing Kid-Friendly Vacation at a 2 Bedroom Gatlinburg Cabin

Apr 10, 2015

Gatlinburg, Tennessee is the ultimate family vacation hub! Whether your children are toddlers or preteens, they will love spending a week in the Smoky Mountains. Parkside Cabin Rentals has put together a list of six great tips for having an unforgettable kid-friendly getaway in a 2 bedroom Gatlinburg cabin.

  1. Make the most of your cabin’s deck.

There is no sense in keeping your kids cooped up indoors when the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains are right outside your cabin! Take advantage of the stunning scenery and fresh mountain air by spending plenty of time on the deck. Whether you have a cookout, play cards, or just relax and enjoy nature, your children will love being out in the warm Tennessee sun. Our decks are equipped with bubbly hot tubs and plenty of furniture, making it easy to kick back and unwind.

  1. Give kids free rein in the game room.

Many of our 2 bedroom Gatlinburg cabins come with awesome game rooms featuring pool tables, foosball, dart boards, electronic games, and more. Make your cabin’s game room a “kids zone”, where your little ones can play together and have fun. Children love having their own special space, and parents will love having peace and quiet in the rest of the cabin!

  1. Reconnect with each other.Reconnect with each other

Plan a day to spend entirely at the cabin just relaxing, talking, and enjoying each other’s company. Typically, work and school take up so much of our day, and then we all want to come home and unwind in our own ways. Most days, dinner is the most family time spent together. While you’re on vacation, make an effort to put aside electronics, school, and work and just reconnect with each other.

  1. Explore downtown Gatlinburg.

Everyone can find the adventure they are looking for in downtown Gatlinburg, and our cabins are all a very short distance away from this hub of activity. The downtown area is packed with a variety of attractions your kids will love including Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, the Gatlinburg Space Needle, Fannie Farkle’s Arcade, Treasure Quest Mini Golf, the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, and plenty of shopping and restaurants. No matter what your age, you are guaranteed to enjoy your time on the Gatlinburg Strip!

  1. Take some time for yourselves.

Of course you want to spend lots of time with the whole family on vacation, but you also deserve some special private time with your significant other. Once you put the kids to bed, enjoy a romantic night right at your 2 bedroom Gatlinburg cabin. Pour a few glasses of wine, soak in the hot tub, and relax with the one you love.Kids love being outside

  1. Get outside and enjoy nature.

Kids love being outside, and there is no better place to experience nature than the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This beautiful park offers plenty of opportunities to get moving and get outdoors. Your family will love a breathtaking loop around Cades Cove followed by a quaint picnic in the woods. The Smokies are an outdoorsman’s paradise, offering everything from hiking, fishing, tubing, swimming, horseback riding, and plenty of other exciting activities. With so many fun things to do, your kids might not want to go back home!
